Give thanks to the Lord for His Overflowing Love, for His mercies endure forever. Welcome to the month of August 2014,
MY MONTH OF OVERFLOWING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8
This is summer time, when people have energy, time and opportunities to venture out, travel for conferences, vacations, family and Alumni reunions; attend weddings, picnics in parks and many more. As children of God, we need a spiritual energy to carry out our spiritual responsibilities too.
The Holy Spirit is the Christians’ Energizer.
When the earth was first created, it was without form and void. When the earth was without form and uninhabited, the Holy Spirit moved across the face of the waters. Genesis 1:2.
This movement energized the earth, setting into motion the earth’s rotation on its axis, the nuclear, gravitational, and electromagnetic forces; and creation of all living things including man. The Holy Spirit was present from before the beginning of time and active in creation. The Holy Spirit came to live in and work through Christians from the day of Pentecost. The Bible is filled with examples of how the Holy Spirit worked in powerful and amazing ways, in unique situations and through people. Making the impossible possible. (The Book of Acts)
Today, the Holy Spirit is available and at work to every man, woman and child to show them their sinfulness, God’s righteousness, and His plan for saving them from coming judgment. The Bible encourages us to be filled with the Holy Spirit: But be filled with the Spirit, Ephesians 5:18, so that we can live a productive and fulfilled Christian life.
May we each day yield our lives to the Holy Spirit’s control and let Him accomplish His will in our hearts. Let’s spend more time in prayer, in studying God’s Word, and telling others about Jesus Christ.
Remain blessed.
