Dearly Beloved,

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding” Proverbs 4:7

Wisdom is one of the most important qualities that we need to possess in our lives to make sound judgment.
The Almighty One is referred to as the God of Wisdom. The Scripture admonishes us to seek wisdom.

Proverbs 4:5-9 “Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.
Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her. She will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you.”
Wisdom is the ability to apply experience, knowledge and understanding to judgment. It is the quality of being able to examine a situation with the use of learning acquired from experience and also using the principles of reality to judge a matter, and make appropriate decisions. Without wisdom, we make foolish decisions that usually lead us to the wrong direction.

In the book of Proverbs, Wisdom is not only a person to love, but wisdom is also a path to walk, and there are blessings God’s people enjoy when they walk on Wisdom’s path.
The path of Wisdom leads to life, but the way of Folly leads to destruction. When you walk on the path of Wisdom, you enjoy three wonderful assurances: Wisdom protects your path, directs your path, and perfects your path.

Proverbs 2:10-13: “When wisdom enters your heart, And knowledge is pleasant to your soul, Discretion will preserve you; Understanding will keep you, To deliver you from the way of evil, From the man who speaks perverse things, From those who leave the paths of uprightness To walk in the ways of darkness.”
When you respond to Wisdom’s invitation you’ll have a greater respect for the Lord and a deeper knowledge of the Holy One. The more you know God; the keener will be your knowledge and discernment when it comes to the decisions of life. Proverbs 9:10: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Prayer Points:
1. Pray that the God of wisdom will endow you with wisdom.
2. Pray that you shall seek wisdom and keep up with it consciously and unconsciously to preserve it in all your endeavors.
3. Pray that every decision you make shall be in line with God’s wisdom.

Welcome to the Month of September 2014, the month of Overflowing With God’s Wisdom
