The LORD will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the works of your hand…… Deuteronomy 28:12
The heaven is God’s storehouse, where He lives, where he stores up treasures and rain or wind for man’s use. The Almighty God is the Owner of heaven and earth, the One with the key of David, the One who opens and no man can shut, the One who shut and no man can open, glory be to His Holy name. The Lord promises to bless us if we obey Him according toDeuteronomy 28:2 – And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God. Obedience to God’s commandments is very important to receiving the blessings of open heavens.
One of the keys to open heavens is humility. 1 Peter 5:6 says “humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,” The heaven was opened to the Lord Jesus Christ when He was baptized by John the baptize. John confessed that he was not worthy enough to baptist Jesus Christ, but the Lord submitted and humbled Himself to be baptized by John and God the Father affirmed His pleasure at Jesus Christ.
Matthew 3:16-17: When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. 17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
Another key to receiving open heaven is praising and thanking God. 1 Thessalonians 5: 17-18 says “pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” So, Paul and Silas in Acts 16:25-26 at midnight were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. And Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s chains were loosed. Through praises to the Lord, Paul and Silas received an open heaven of deliverance.
Another important way God opens the heaven to us is through giving our tithes and offering. Malachi 3:10 says “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the LORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.” When you give your tithes, you are positioning yourself for an open heaven to your life.
Beloved, do you want God’s blessings in your life? If so, be sure to implement these biblical principles for good success into your life.
Return to the Lord and get right with Him and others if you have wandered away from Him.
Be obedient to God’s Word and humble yourself.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
Don’t rob God of His tithes and offerings. This brings a curse.
Give to His work and start first by giving yourself to Him.
Prayer: Father open the floodgates of heaven over all aspects of my life in Jesus Name.
