Praise is awaiting You, O God, in Zion…. For You crown the year with Your goodness Psalm 65:1 and 11

We bless the Lord Almighty for another new month of December, the last month of the year 2021. We have every reason to thank God for all He has done for us in the year 2021. Through the LORD’S mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is His faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23. For all that God’s grace offers us we can give Him no better thing than to always give Him adoration. God deserves our praises on account of the lovingkindness which we have experienced. God’s mercy alone delivers us from the burden of iniquities, by purging us of our sins through the blood of Jesus Christ.

Psalm 65 is a song of blessing in celebration of God’s goodness to His people. David declared that God, who hears prayers, atones for sin, a provision that results in God’s bounty. David also announced that God uses His supernatural power to aid His people. Based on these displays of God’s good pleasure, we are endowed with God’s blessings and prosperity as seen and read in the Psalm:

• He answers our prayers (vs 2)
• He forgives our sin (vs 3)
• He fills us with the good things of life (vs 4)
• He answers with awesome deeds (vs 5)
• He protects us (vs 5-7)
• Awesome deeds of God’s power (vs 8)
• He sends rain and makes the land fertile and gives us abundant provision (9-13).

This year God has blessed us through His words as follows: In January He is our Alpha and Omega (Isaiah 44:6). February and March, the name of Jesus Christ the Lord, is the name that opens all locked doors (Philippians 2:10, Revelations 3:8). In April, Our Redeemer lives. (Job 19:25). In May and June, God’s grace takes us from strength to strength (Philemon 1:25, Psalm 84:7). In July, Remember me O Lord and perfect all that concerns me in Jesus’ name, (Psalm 106:4) which launches us in August to a new wave of glory (Isaiah 60:1). The Lord divinely settled us with divine blessings in September and October (1 Peter 5:10, Ephesians 1:3). And in November, the Lord charged us to “Pursue, Overtake and Recover all,”(1 Samuel 30:8). Let us therefore offer quality praise to our God who is more than enough.

Now to Him who can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21. he that has brought us this far will see us to the end in Jesus’ name.

Welcome to the month of December 2021, the month of Praise is awaiting You O God in Zion.

Yours in Him,
Pastor Lillian Haastrup
