Fear Not
“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10
To God be the glory for great things He has done for us. For keeping us alive to see this day, to Him alone be all the glory, honor, and adoration in Jesus name.
This year 2020 has brought with it the devastating COVID-19 to the whole world, but the Lord has fulfilled His word in our lives that says “a thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand: But it shall not come near you (Psalm 91:7). It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed.
The word of the Lord to you this eight month of the year 2020 is “FEAR NOT FOR I AM WITH YOU.”
The Webster Dictionary defines fear as “an unpleasant often strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger,” it also means “to be afraid of or expect with alarm.”
The situations of the world, and things going on around us today can make one to be afraid of one’s safety and of what is coming in the next minute, but the Lord is telling you today that “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand,’ Isaiah 41:10.
Fear is a fundamental part of our lives whether we like it or not. Some have more fear than others, but we all seem to have to deal with fear one time or the other in our lives.
But we should also recognize that fear involves torment (1 John 4:18b). Tormenting fear brings us into bondage of the devil, fears such as fear of Covid-19 or fear of getting any type of disease, fear of losing job, fear of losing a loved one, fear of failure, fear of the future, fear of man, and fear of the devil.
The fact that God is in control of our lives, the fact that the Lord has a plan for our lives, and the fact that nothing happens to us without His consent, these facts should cause us to rest in His care. God says, “behold, I have gravened thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me (Isaiah 49:16). He is in control. He knows what He is doing. He knows my circumstances. God can change your circumstances at a moment’s notice and meet your needs.
For example:
He promoted Joseph from a prison to a palace-Genesis 41
He delivered the three Hebrew men from a flaming furnace because they would not worship an idol -Daniel 3: 8-30
He provided for the widow of Zarephath and her son throughout the period of a famine-1 Kings 17:8-16
He arranged for the rescue of Jonah from the sea with a fish that was assigned to deliver him Jonah 2:10
He healed the woman who had issue of blood for 12 years-Luke 8:43-48
He delivered many who were possessed with demons -Matthew 8:16
He fed thousands and thousands of men, women, and children with little provision- Matthew 14:21
Our lives are in God’s care and our path is prepared by Him.
Trusting Him should help to quench our fear. For He says fear not: for I am with thee.”
What can you do with your fear?
Firstly, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ confess your sins and surrender your life to Him, and you will be saved, Acts 16:31
Secondly, cast your cares and worries upon the Lord Jesus in prayers, for He cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7
Thirdly, continue to praise God for His Mercies and Faithfulness, Psalm 145:8-9
Welcome to the month of August 2020, the month of FEAR NOT.
Yours in the Lord,
Pastor Dr. Lillian Haastrup.
