REVIVE US AGAIN O LORD
Psalm 85:6 (NKJV)- Will You not revive us again, That Your people may rejoice in You?
The Lord be praised for His lovingkindness and tender mercies in our lives, for sparing our lives to see the 10th month of the year 2022. To Him alone be the glory and honor and adoration through Jesus Christ our Lord. The number 10 denotes completion or perfection. One of the ways that God perfects that which concerns us is by reviving and restoring us. Revival means returning to knowing, loving, and serving God as one used to do. I pray that the good Lord perfect all that concerns you, your family and ministry in Jesus’ name.
Psalm 119:25 (NKJV), “My soul clings to the dust; Revive me according to Your word.”
Psalm 85:6 (NKJV)- Will You not revive us again, That Your people may rejoice in You?
How do we know if we need revival?
We need revival:
*When our first love for God has dwindle or totally lost. *When the Bible becomes just another book.
*When our prayer lives have lapsed into dull routine
*When Church becomes an obligation instead of an opportunity to grow spiritually and serve the Lord.
*when we are regular at our jobs but irregular at Church meetings.
*when we are punctual for work but late for Church meetings.
*When giving becomes a nuisance and living by faith seems like a fairy tale.
*When we hear about God’s provision and answered prayers, but we do not experience for ourselves the reality of actually trusting God and seeing Him work in our lives.
*When we are more interested in TV programs, movies, and pornography than the things of God
*when we spend more money on self-indulgence than we do on the work of the Lord.
*When we harbor grudges, resentments, bitter feelings and unwilling to forgive others.
*When we are guilty of gossiping and backbiting
*When we are unwilling to confess wrongs, we have committed and unwilling to forgive others
*when they confess their faults to us.
*when we fight like cats at home, then appear in the Church as angels.
*When we have become conformed to the world in our talk, our walk, and our whole lifestyle.
*When we have lost sight of evangelism and the second coming of the Lord.
…The list can keep going on and on.
God’s conditions for revival are prescribed in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from
heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
The elements for revival are:
1.Humility: Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. James 4:10
2.Praying: Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou know not. Jeremiah 33:3
3.Seeking the Lord: Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Isaiah 55:6
4.Turning from Sin: Nevertheless, the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those
who are His,” and “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” 2 Timothy 2:19
5.Repentance: For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the
sorrow of the world produces death. 2 Corinthians 7:10
6.A Broken Heart over Sin: The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart and saves such as have a contrite spirit. Psalm 34:18
7.Complete Surrender and dedication: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. [2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:1-2
Oswald Smith said, “To obtain God’s best, we must give our best. To win, we must surrender. To live, we must die. To receive, we must give.”
The reward of revival can be summarized in Psalm 85:12 (NKJV)- Yes, the LORD will give what is good; And our land will yield its increase.
Let our prayers be “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me… Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit” (Psalms 51:10, 12) and the song-Lord send down revival 3X, and let it begin with me, in Jesus’ name.
Welcome to the month of October 2022, may the Lord revive us and perfect all that concerns us in Jesus mighty name.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Lillian Haastrup
