Dearly Beloved,

Thanks be to the Almighty God for His faithfulness throughout the first half of this year 2017.

Then the ark rested in the seventh month, the seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat. Genesis 8:4

Welcome to the month of July, the seventh month of the year 2017. Seven is the number of completeness and perfection in both physical and spiritual realms. It derives much of its meaning from being tied directly to God’s creation of all things.

After the sixth day, God’s creative work was finished. God always finishes what He starts. He is the Alpha (beginning) and Omega (ending), the Author and Finisher of our faith. God rested on the seventh day after He finished His creation. The work God has begun in our lives He will also perform and finish it.-Philippians1:6.  The Lord is not done with us yet.

The Ark of Noah rested from the flood and storm that destroyed the world in the seventh month, the seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat, Genesis 8:4. This is the exact day that Christ arose from the dead. We have peace and rest because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is also the same day the children of Israel crossed the Red Sea.

On the cross of Calvary, Jesus said “It is finished,” these are words of performance, completion, delight, and victory- (John.19.30) They are not words of a weary defeat, but of joy! As you move on in this month victory and joyful songs shall be your portion in Jesus Name.

We can only have our rest in the Lord Jesus Christ, and in Matthew 11:28-30  Jesus said “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. For there remains a rest for the people of God. Hebrews 4:1 & 9.

Since we have the assurance of rest in the Lord, we need to cultivate an attitude of praise to the Almighty God and the Lord in His Infinite Might will perfect the works of your hands. May the Lord give your destiny the needed rest from the storms and adversities of life in Jesus name.

Welcome to the month of July 2017, your  month of Perfection and Rest in the Lord.

Yours in Him,

Pastor  (Dr.) Lillian Haastrup
