Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.” 1 Samuel 7:12b
We give God the glory for great things He has done for us. We are His Sheep and He is our Shepherd, no wonder we never lack any good thing. From time to time we need to take stock and count our blessings, and give the Lord the praise for His goodness and mercies unto us.
A major occasion in our lives that need constant appreciating God for, is our Salvation. This month of April, 2017 we commemorate the Crucifixion and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is worthy to note that without these events, there would have been no Christianity. For this reasons God has made us His special people and has redeemed us from our lives of darkness to the marvelous light of His dear Son Jesus Christ (1 Peter 2:9). He took us from the pit of sin and sets us on a sure foundation. Psalm 40:1-3 shows how the Lord lifts us from the pit to having a purpose and being productive.
Thus far the LORD has helped us and we lift our Ebenezer unto Him, 1 Samuel 7:12. The Lord has been our protector, therefore we are rejoicing in the shadow of His wings. The Lord is our present Helper, He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). And the Lord is our future helper, behold, the Lord God will help us; who is he that shall condemn us? (Isaiah 50:9).
The Lord paid for our healing and heals our diseases. For by His stripes we are healed and delivered from destruction (1 Peter 2:24).
His love crowns us with loving kindness. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning, James 1:17. God does not change; He is not like a shadow that changes with the movement of the sun. God’s Word stresses His consistency and faithfulness. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever, Hebrews 13:8 and Malachi 3:6 says For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
If you have not accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as to experience His love, I pray that you will accept the Lord Jesus Christ by acknowledging the work Jesus did on the cross of Calvary for you and denounce your sinful life. So that you continue to enjoy His goodness and be able to join His saints to say Ebenezer, thus far the Lord has helped me.
Your testimony is around the corner. Believe the Lord , trust and Obey His commandments. It shall be well with you in Jesus name.
Welcome to the month of April, the month of Ebenezer.
Remain blessed,
Pastor Lillian Haastrup
